Whispering Walls, 2010

Site-specific piece for Departure Gallery's warehouse exhibition 'The Middle of Nowhere'.

I collected text from noticeboards around the disused warehouse. These fragments were relics from when the building was in use as a lorry depot. I rewrote each found text in my own handwriting and recorded the sound of this process. The resulting soundtrack of me scribbling became a whisper-like soundpiece which was played alongside a slideshow of my writing projected inside a small portacabin where some of the texts had been found.
